The location chosen for 2024 has just been announced to happen in Las Vegas, again. With the longest list of shows held in this very city, Mr. Olympia is likely to continue with its legacy once more.
This year’s Mr. Olympia saw several controversies regarding the location where it should be held. After many promising bodybuilding contestants were not given an approved VISA for the USA, the enraged fans pointed out how Mr. Olympia should change its location from strictly being held in the US. Now, the brainchild of Joe and Ben Weider is returning back to the Sin City after a prolonged delay.
2024 Mr. Olympia host hotel: Conrad

The latest Instagram post of Mr. Olympia LLC, the announcement of 2024 Mr. Olympia’s venue is all about the $4 billion luxury resort. In addition to that, the authorities also revealed the host hotel that would be welcoming all the Mr. Olympians. The post stated in its caption, “The incredible 4-billion-dollar RESORTS WORLD LAS VEGAS will roll out the red carpet for the global fitness industry, serving as the host hotel for the special 60th edition of the iconic event.”

Furthermore, it has also notified that the rooms will be running out and hence whoever wants to, need to book it now. They wrote, “The expanded Olympia Expo will take place at the nearby Las Vegas Convention Center. Special discounted hotel rooms are now available at Resorts World.” Thus, October 10th to 13th is already announced to be getting busy at the Conrad.
After Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, the 60th Anniversary of the show needs grander premises for their event next year. As participating bodybuilders are intrigued by their upcoming challenge next year, even the event organizers and owners are equally exhilarated.
Mr. Olympia’s 60th Anniversary
In the same post by Mr. Olympia LLC, it was announced how the event authorities are looking for the upcoming event. According to President Dan Solomon, the coming year’s event is chosen to be in Las Vegas, a city that has given the most amount of events. He stated, ?We?re proud of the relationship we?ve built with the city of Las Vegas over the last 25 years. The team at Resorts World is working closely with us to create an overall experience worthy of our historic 60th year, the ultimate celebration of how far the fitness industry has come.? Solomon did not forget to mention how this would be a milestone for the whole of the fitness community.
The owner of Mr. Olympia, Jake Wood on the other hand announced how the fans might expect something bigger than ever before. He stated, ?We have big plans for number 60.” Wood also added how the coming year would be dedicated to none other than Joe Weider. He said, “This one is dedicated to Joe Weider and to everyone who has contributed to the massive growth and popularity of the Olympia throughout the world.?
The competition indeed boasts a rich history and has seen legends like Len Haney, and Ronnie Coleman, clinching the top two positions for most wins during the peak of their career. Derek Lunsford currently holds this record. 7-times Mr. Olympia winner, Arnold Schwarzenegger became the youngest ever winner of this title in 1970 and still holds the record. Interestingly, Las Vegas as a venue shares a fond history when it comes to some of the legendary names.
Las Vegas was the witness to the glory of legends!
Olympia started in New York City and held back to back 6 shows there before the venue was shifted to France. Although the show is primarily set in the United States, it has not been like that all the time. From 1970 to 1992, Mr. Olympia was held in different countries almost 10 times including, France, Germany, South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, and Finland.

In the United States, the count of cities goes as many as 8. Out of all these Las Vegas sits at the top of the list with the most amount shows in the history of Mr. Olympia. Shocking as it might be, Las Vegas stood witness to most of Ronnie Coleman’s wins, and all of Jay Cutler and Phil Heath’s rule on the throne of Mr. Olympia.

After such a prolonged phase of two decades from 1999 to 2019, Mr. Olympia was again held in Las Vegas in 2022 to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
