In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, he revealed one of the tough moments when he was forced to punish his son, Patrick, leaving him petrified.

As the interview progressed, he spoke about his days as a father and narrated an incident where he wanted to teach a lesson to Patrick Schwarzenegger.

As a kid, Patrick Schwarzenegger, as his father narrated, always kept the lights on, even when not in use. Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to teach him a lesson, first by talking about how he grew up in a place where electricity was scarce and he always had to turn the lights off. However, despite the story, as he walked into his son’s room, there was no impact, and the lights were still on.

So, he used his second way. He applied a peculiar trick and would pop out a bulb from the chandelier every time he saw it was on, and finally, as he popped the seventh bulb, that was when the lesson was taught. He said, “He was freaking out going alone into his room at night when it was dark. So I said, “Now you’re crying.” And ever since then, his son has never left the lights on. Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger has indeed managed to instill valuable lessons into his children, and they are still being followed by them to raise their own children.

Katherine Schwarzenegger uses her parents’ way of upbringing for her daughters

In one of her interviews with the New York Times, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt revisited her memories from her childhood, where she appreciated how her parents raised them. She even shared that her daughters’ grandparents are very involved in their lives and often take the initiative to perform activities to keep them entertained.

For instance, their grandmother, Maria Shriver, makes sure to host a mommy-and-me session every week for her granddaughters and their friends, and Arnold Schwarzenegger took up a pony for them to play with.
