The passage of time is a relentless force that eventually catches up with even the mightiest individuals. At 75 years old, Schwarzenegger is not immune to the natural effects of aging. The once-invincible bodybuilder now experiences the changes that come with the passing years. He revealed in the third episode of his limited series about the changes and how it impacted him initially. He stated, “You just look at your body and all of a sudden you see a wrinkle below your pectoral muscle. You look at that and lift up your arm and say, “What? I wonder if this can be surgically removed?”

Schwarzenegger disclosed that even though he has moved on now, initially this used to affect him a lot. Being the best bodybuilder in the world at one point, it is understandable that depleting muscles and wrinkled skin must have been heartbreaking for him. “I’m not going to take off my T-shirt because my abs are not quite anymore what they were,”?said Schwarzenegger.?

Over the years, though, ‘The Terminator’ has managed to accept it.?“Now, I don’t even look at it anymore that way. Now I’m just fighting to hold on,”?he admitted. However, what might come as an even bigger surprise to most fans is the fact that even when he was winning continuous titles and being hailed as the best bodybuilder in the world, he was not very confident about his physique.?

Schwarzenegger’s struggle with body dysmorphia

In a clip from his series that was posted on an Instagram page, Arnold disclosed that he was never satisfied with the way he looked despite winning numerous titles.??I never really was satisfied with my body. I looked in the mirror and said to myself, ?I don?t know how this sh*t body can ever win this competition,??he stated.

Schwarzenegger revealed that he flaunted his physique and portrayed confidence backstage just to get in the head of his rivals. But in reality, he always saw flaws in his physique and this is the only reason he managed to improve his physique. “I think it?s the very thing that made me always be on the edge and always want more,??Arnold pointed out.?
