IFBB icon, Samir Bannout once dominated the stage of Mr. Olympia, and his downright lean proportions were the fans’ favorite. He won the title in 1983, till then only six men had set their names to the title, per sources. The athlete hailing all the way from Beirut, Lebanon, was once again the center of the fans’ attention after a resurfaced image of him rolled in on Instagram yesterday. 

Bannout’s aesthetic physique encouraged the majority of the fans to reflect on the current generation of bodybuilders. Thus, the comments ranged from grand appreciations to direct comparisons of his build to the enhanced physiques of modern times.

As per the source, the 67-year-old pro was captured in a magnificent pose, looking downwards, donning white posing trunks. Every inch of the athlete’s frame seemed rightly proportionate. The black and white picture featured him in his prime, and was posted by a bodybuilding page, The Golden Days. 

However, his leg conditioning was the real eye-catcher, as fans pondered over his statuesque frame claiming this is how a “real” bodybuilder ought to look, not just big muscles. Similarly, the caption of the post stated, “You just CAN’T beat that old school materials… PURE CLASS.”

In less than a day, the post gathered 4.07k likes and a number of comments. One fan issued an interesting comparison with four-time Arnold Classic winner, Chris Bumstead, and wrote, “Not a single flaw on this physique. CBum can be happy he didn’t have to stand next to a true classic physique in The Lion”  whereas another fan hailed the Lion of Lebanon, saying, “Samir IS “pure class!!”

“Bodybuilding at its finest. Period,” a comment read while another criticized the present generation of athletes as, “Now this .. this is as far as it should go ! .. way better than today’s pot-bellied bloated freaks”  A particular fan marked him as “Total muscle hunk stud” owing to his ideal frame.
