Bodybuilding icon Kai Greene never won the Olympia, but most fans believe that he is the uncrowned Mr. Olympia of the modern era. Greene formed a legendary rivalry with seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath but stopped competing after losing to Heath thrice. However, every year, the 300 lbs mass monster sparks rumors of making a return to the Olympia stage.
This time Kai Greene’s former coach George Farah spoke about the three-time Arnold Classic winner’s current condition. During the first episode of Generation Iron’s exclusive digital series A Conversation With George Farah. “We discuss how Kai Greene reached out asking for coaching ‘to start my prep,‘“ read the caption. So Farah revealed what the bodybuilding icon told him.
“I need to start my prep for real George. I feel behind, I’m not myself,“ said Greene. However, the veteran bodybuilding coach asked what Kai Greene wanted to prepare for. “You really wanna do the Olympia again?” responded George Farah. While he didn’t reveal the 48-year-old’s response, he added, “When they leave, and they come back, almost none of them done good.”

However, the veteran coach also said he believed that Kai Greene may be different. Greene’s rival, Phil Heath, returned to the stage after losing his Olympia title in 2018. While The Gift didn’t win the Olympia he placed second. Farah believes the former Arnold Classic champion may pull off something similar.
“The difference though… Kai hasn’t stopped working out,“ added the renowned coach. “I think if he wants to do it, then we’ll all be surprised,“ claimed Farah in the clip. However, Kai Greene has teased and failed to make a comeback multiple times.
Kai Greene has left the door open
About a year ago, Kai Greene appeared on the Muscular Development YouTube channel for an interview. During the interview, the host asked Greene about his career and amid rumors of Phil Heath’s return, asked him about his comeback plans. “Do you plan on ever competing again?“ asked the host. “I would never want to say never,” responded the three-time Olympia runner-up.

Kai Greene also said that he never “officially retired“ from competitive bodybuilding. However, he also didn’t give any confirmation about returning to the stage. “I guess the best thing I can say is, you just can’t count the guy out,” The Predator said during the interview. However, Greene didn’t compete in 2023.
While George Farah may have stirred the pot yet again, it doesn’t seem likely that Kai Greene is planning a comeback. However, the bodybuilding icon maintains a phenomenal physique.
