Joe Weider has certainly been one of the key figures in the development of bodybuilding as a sport; however, despite his popularity when he introduced his own line of supplements and protein powders, the community completely rejected it. Decades later, the 77-year-old bodybuilding champ known for his ever youth physique in the late 70s exposes the truth behind Weider supplements.

Robby Robbinson is always being hailed because of his charisma and magnificent body, which he has maintained to date. However, that is not the only instance of him being a rebel. Back in the days when Weider products were not being well accepted, it was Robbinson who had the guts to speak out against it, and years later, he emphasized the same instance.

In his latest appearance on a podcast called The Spase, Robbinson explained how although most bodybuilders were conditioned in a way to believe that unless they take supplements, they can never reach the top of the competitions, no one really took Weider’s supplements. He stated, “Arnold didn’t use it, Frank didn’t, nobody used the Weider supplement.” Then he claimed, “Yes I mean 90% of it was sugar, so nobody really took.”

The former bodybuilding beast then explained, without showing any disrespect to the company, that it had diuretic effects. He stated, “I mean it’s a totally diuretic effect, I mean I’m talking about diarrhea effect along with that your body couldn’t maintain it.” Robbinson further explained how sad the situation was because of the supplements.

However, the story does not end there, as Robbinson also claimed that since he had spoken against it, no one quite liked the stunt on his part.
