Former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has been fighting for green energy for decades. Recently, the seven-time Mr. Olympia appeared on the CBS Sunday Morning Show to promote FUBAR and his upcoming documentary. During the interview, the Governator discussed many things, including the climate crisis that’s slowly, but gradually, getting worse. However, instead of addressing people about the problem with the term “climate change,” Schwarzenegger came up with a different idea.

While speaking on climate change, Schwarzenegger said the issue requires a different approach. He revealed how the broad term climate change encompasses many issues but doesn’t address the cause behind that change. Here’s what the bodybuilding legend had to say about his rephrasing of the term.

While chatting with Tracy Smith, the former Mr. Universe mentioned that one way to deal with ignorance is to address what causes climate change. “As long as they keep talking about global climate change, it will never go anywhere,” said the bodybuilding icon. Since people can’t see the cause and immediate circumstance, many refuse to believe the phenomenon.

“No one gives a s**t about that. So my thing is, let’s go and rephrase this and really tell people,” said the former politician. Schwarzenegger has led the charge against pollution and emission that increase pollution since his first term as the Governor of California. He was the first political leader to sign the 2006 climate act that significantly cut down emissions in the state.

“We are talking about pollution. Pollution creates climate change,” he told the CBS News correspondent. Since pollution and its immediate effects can be documented, the philanthropist hopes people will care. The bodybuilding legend also spoke about pollution as the cause behind climate change at this year’s Austrian World Summit. Fox News reporters who posted the clip analyzed Arnie’s argument.

Hosts of the Fox News Outnumbered broke down the 75-year-old’s statement. “How refreshing to have someone with a common sense approach. He’s not wrong,” said host Emily Compagno. Another host highlighted how even the Democrats and Republicans stand divided on climate change issues. While the majority trust climate scientists, some do not.

Hence, focusing resources to reduce pollution seems like a logical step. Kellyanne Conway pointed out how the 75-year-old is trying to get “more people engaged and not just enraged,” about the issue. Since “pollution is something you can smell, see, (and) taste,” people might feel compelled to reduce it.
