The world finally saw Arnold Schwarzenegger’s much-awaited Super Bowl commercial. Arnie teased his collab with State Farm well in advance, and it even got the full action cinema treatment. This was the first Arnold Schwarzenegger commercial with a poster and a trailer. However, Arnie kept the biggest surprise to himself because no one expected Danny DeVito to appear at the end.
Arnold Schwarzenegger finally reunited with his Twins co-star after decades in the commercial. Schwarzenegger and DeVito acted together for the last time in 1994 in Junior. Since then, fans have wished for a sequel to the 1988 blockbuster comedy Twins. While a Tiwns sequel might never happen, the bodybuilding icon referenced it in the final promo post for Agent State Farm.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shared an image with Danny DeVito and Kevin Miles, aka Jake from State Farm. However, it wasn’t just any photograph, as Arnie and DeVito recreated the iconic pose from Twins. This time, the title read ‘Triplets’ as Kevin Miles joined the iconic duo. “The resemblance is remarkable,” Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote in the caption.

Besides playing homage to Twins, the trio also reacted to what could’ve been. Reportedly, the Twins sequel was supposed to be titled Triplets. However, neither the actors nor the fans got to see how it would’ve turned out. Schwarzenegger, DeVito, and Miles posing together is the closest Triplets ever got to completion. Unfortunately, Ivan Reitman had every intention to direct the sequel.
Ivan Reitman, the man who directed the ever-relevant Ghost Busters films, had prepared a script for the Twins sequel. While things didn’t line up, Reitman, DeVito, and Arnie wanted to make the sequel at some point. However, after the veteran director’s death, the project ran into a dead end.

Arnold Schwarzenegger blames Jason Reitman
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Terminator star said the project halted after Reitman’s passing in 2022. However, the 76-year-old was hopeful, as Jason Reitman, Ivan Reitman’s son, is a renowned director in his own right. Unfortunately, the four-time Academy Award-nominated director “didn’t like the idea” of helming a sequel to his father’s film.
The Predator actor told The Hollywood Reporter that, “Jason Reitman f***ed it up!” and stopped the project from going any further. It was the final nail in the long overdue Twins sequel’s coffin. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave fans of the unlikely duo something to celebrate, as he said he and his old friend Danny DeVito will star in a different project this year.
