In a recent turn of events, the 7x Mr. Olympia champion and one of the best athletes in the history of the sport, reminiscing about his prime days of bodybuilding, shared the significance of doing a prolonged cardio session before you start your workout.

He goes to the flashback memory of his days of youth and how he used to work out with his gym buddy Franco. Further in the video, he said, “We would drive down the San Jose Boulevard and pull over on the way to the gym and we would just pull over to the side and he would say let’s just run 10 blocks down and 10 back.”

Both of them came from a sports background, The Austrian Oak from soccer and Franco from boxing. They loved the movement and just the initial stance of cardio wasn’t enough. They would run on the beach even after they had finished their workout. Explaining his daily routine, including Cardio, Jay Cutler once revealed that he does an intense session of cardio early in the morning. He makes sure that he finishes it at home. Cutler said, “I have everything at home, whether it’s a bike, treadmill, step mill, elliptical, I do it all”.
