What did Hamill advice Arnold Schwarzenegger
Before Arnold Schwarzenegger rose to fame in Hollywood, he sought career advice from Mark Hamill, who had already established himself as a prominent actor through his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. However, Kreischer said that the advice that Hamill provided Schwarzenegger was anything but conventional. Firstly, Hamill advised Schwarzenegger to give up his Austrian accent.
According to Hamill, the accent would limit Schwarzenegger’s potential as it would confine him to playing small roles. Whereas, with an American accent, Schwarzenegger could have a wider range of opportunities in the industry. Secondly, he suggested that Arnold’s last name was too long and would not look good on marquees, so he should give up that too. However, Schwarzenegger wisely chose not to follow those pieces of advice.
But when he met Kreischer, he made sure to warn him about any such advice as the well-known comedian recently worked with Hamill. Kreischer told the interviewer that when he went for a workout session with Schwarzenegger, he shared his experience and warned him “never listen to that guy”. But while The Terminator took bits of advice on the acting part during his career, he hardly gave any to his family.
