Recently, 3x Mr. Universe winner Calum Jose Von Moger candidly discussed the tremendous obstacles he encountered over the past few months. Through an emotional YouTube video, Von Moger, who portrayed Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film Bigger, unveiled a side of himself that he seldom reveals to the public by sharing his personal heartache and struggles.

In the last year, the Australian actor has experienced a turbulent journey filled with substantial personal losses, as well as battles against anxiety and depression. Despite his usual reserved nature, this particular tragedy forces him to find words that express his grief and control his emotions effectively.

The shattering devastation of losing his younger brother shook the 32-year-old’s world and forced him to grapple with unbearable pain. Though the loss of any loved one immensely impacts a person, the suffering from losing a sibling, someone dear and close, remains beyond words. The 3x Mr. Universe acknowledged his lack of readiness for such a loss, which greatly affected his motivation and determination. “I’ve never experienced someone dying that’s close to me especially a sibling and something that you can never be prepared for. I’ve lost my motivation, I’ve lost my drive.”

Additionally, the challenges in the bodybuilding influencer’s life extend beyond his brother’s passing. Just a year before, he had a close brush with death due to an accident where he fell from a second-floor window at his Geelong home. The mishap led to serious spinal injuries, and doctors had to place him in an induced coma. The subsequent physical and emotional distress only heightened his existing battles with anxiety and depression.
