Bodybuilding is tricky to understand, as it involves molding one’s physique according to their desire. So, the questions regarding workout and diet routines, body muscle and fat ratios, etc., are a constant. So, taking part in the ‘Titan Q&A’ a bodybuilder posed a question. “Hi Mike I was planning to compete in Masters classic bodybuilding at 5ft 11, I’m 93 kg at 8% body fat, the max I can compete at is 97 kg,” he wrote.
He further added, “What weight do you think I should aim for in the off season at 8% body fat to diet down to 97kg contest weight.” O’Hearn honestly replied, “I am not that intelligent to be able to take just your numbers itself because I don’t know what eight percent looks like on you.”
He also elaborated on an incident from ‘The Chemist’s’ life as an example. “Frank Zane was told to get some size and Joe Weider says, ‘Hey, I need more size on you.‘” So, the 3x Mr. Olympia competed in Mr. Olympia weighing 200 or 205 pounds. However, he didn’t win the show. “So it’s not much, it’s like five-ten pounds which doesn’t sound like a lot,” O’Hearn reasoned out. “He sucked, he said, at 205 and he would have won the show if he was 195 or 190,” O’Hearn further revealed Zane’s thoughts. O’Hearn always gives honest inputs that are often jewels of wisdom for the fitness community.
