On July 25, 2023, NBA legend LeBron James‘ son, Bronny James, suffered a cardiac arrest. The young basketball player was practicing at the University of South Carolina when the incident happened. While the 18-year-old is in stable condition, he had to be rushed to the ICU. After the incident, the older son of the Lakers player joined a worrying statistic that has become a worldwide health issue. Mother of four and the ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger highlighted the issue in her social media post.

Shortly after news broke of the 18-year-old’s precarious situation, Maria Shriver tweeted about it. The 67-year-old sent “love” and “good wishes” to the James family. However, the bodybuilding icon’s ex-wife also expressed concern about her two sons.

The renowned reporter and mother of four took to Twitter to highlight a major health issue. “Men’s health is a huge issue at every age,” wrote Maria Shriver. In her post, the 67-year-old alluded to the rise in heart attack cases in young men. According to the American College of Cardiology, heart attacks have become increasingly common among young adults.

During the American College of Cardiology’s 68th Annual Scientific Session in 2019, the institute furnished the results of a 16-year study. They found that during the period, the heart attack rate in individuals below 40 increased by 2% each year. “As a mother of two young men, this is super scary and I hope he’s (Bronny James) is doing ok,” added Shriver.

Maria Shriver is well known for her battle against Alzheimer’s and is a crusader for brain health. Hence, she highlighted the worrying trend in her tweet. The author might also be worried as her ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger has also suffered from heart health issues.

Arnold Schwarzenegger had to undergo surgery

Bodybuilding legend and seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered from heart health issues. The Hollywood action star had a defective heart valve and underwent bypass surgery in 1997. The surgery was quite difficult as Arnie needed 12 surgeons for a procedure “normally” requiring four doctors. However, Arnie’s ordeal wasn’t over because he required a second valve surgery in 2018.
