Jablin said that it’s important that person has?“a template”?and?“steps”?they can follow to not let addictions or distractions rule their life. The 54-year-old lifelong athlete said that Kobe Bryant talked about the same thing.?“We lost a great one with Kobe… But he talked about how when he got up earlier… and he practiced,”?said the bodybuilding icon.
Kobe Bryant was famous for outworking everyone on the basketball court. His teams like Shaquille O’Neal have talked many times about the discipline and work ethic of the late NBA champion. Bryant would often be the first athlete to report for practice and work on his technique, strength, and stamina. O’Hearn said the fact that Bryant?”enjoyed”?the process.
“There was no catching up to him because he put in so much work consistently, and consistently doing it right,” said the 54-year-old. Similarly, O’Hearn implied that people struggling to find discipline should evaluate if they enjoy the fitness lifestyle to being with. O’Hearn’s guest, Adam Jablin, also touched on the point of love for an art fostering discipline.

“With Kobe and MJ (Michael Jordan)… it was their love. What you do is your love,”?said Jablin. Hence, for the two NBA legends, it didn’t feel like something they had to do. He then complimented Mike O’Hearn and said just like the NBA legend, for the former Mr. Universe, fitness is not work.?“We found that thing that we love,”?said Jablin, and that helped maintain discipline.
However, Jablin also pointed out that having a mentor or a guide is also helpful for building consistency. O’Hearn’s guest said that for the 54-year-old, it’s Frank Zane. Since the former Mr. Universe trained under Zane, he achieved a new level of perfection, according to Adam Jablin.
