Richard Gaspari recently took to his Instagram and posted a video of himself explaining the importance of rest in the process of building muscles. He wrote, “I believe to build muscle you need to workout with intensity and training to fail but if you don’t get proper sleep and you don’t give your body parts enough Time for recovery you will not build muscle.”

He continues to explain how even if you have had a really intense workout for hours in the gym but fail to give your body 7 to 8 hours of sound sleep, the entire workout becomes ineffective. He said, “If you want to grow, you need to rest; that’s when your muscles grow. Muscles don’t grow when you’re lifting heavy, that’s when they break down.”

Richard Gaspari, in his entire video, emphasizes how recovery and rest make your body grow. He even mentions that if you’re doing chest exercises one day, it’s better not to do triceps the next day, as indulging your arms regularly might harm the process of recovery. It is the same with legs. He finally says, “So the key to muscle growth is to make sure you let your muscle recover, and you need proper sleep and letting a muscle recover.” He once even shared the secret behind defying age.

Richard Gaspari reveals the process of defying age

Despite not being able to grab a Mr. Olympia title in his bodybuilding career, Richard Gaspari stands tall and handsome even at the age of 60. According to the IFBB Pro coach, the process of aging accelerates after the age of 60. However, he believes that one can take charge of the process and have an age-defying physique like his.

He reveals two secrets that can be used to go backward in age. The first method that he mentioned was taking hormones. He even stated that testosterone counteracts aging, and if taken in the right dosage, it helps a lot. He even advised growth hormones. However, he emphasizes that it is important to train even after taking the hormones to look flawless. It is the perfect mix of training and hormones that keep you fit and makes you look ageless.
