Even the mightiest have a downfall sometimes and even the wisest make mistakes. Arnold Schwarzenegger has had different careers in his lifetime, succeeding in each of them like no one else. But the one thing that has been consistent with the Austrian bodybuilding legend is his benevolence towards others. Therefore, when certain disturbing reports of him treating other people poorly, especially those of the opposite gender came to light, and Schwarzenegger admitted, it was shocking to the millions who loves him.
Now, in a brand new interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about that very same time when several women came forward accusing him of groping and other sexual misconduct. Schwarzenegger completely owned his mistakes and made an apology. He also promised to do the right thing for everyone.

“Look, the bottom line is that even though the times were different, it doesn’t matter if it was 100 years ago or today. You have to treat women with respect and you have to treat people with respect. None of it is an excuse. I should have behaved better”, answered Arnold Schwarzenegger to The Hollywood Reporter. The Hollywood Reporter did an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger recently, regarding his upcoming series FUBAR. During the course of that interview, he also faced certain tough questions about his life in the past.
Schwarzenegger became his harshest judge and didn’t sound defensive in his way of tackling the subject. Neither was he dismissive towards THR when they breached the sensitive subject of not doing right by so many people, despite being someone who otherwise cares so much. When he faced accusations of groping several women in the past, he admitted to wrongdoing then. He is still accepting his mistakes now upfront.
He was also accused of bad behavior by Harry Potter actor Miriam Margoyles, but he did find support in some corners of the industry. Like when Danish actress Brigitte Nielsen called him a great guy. As far as Schwarzenegger himself is concerned, he believes in living and learning from his mistakes.
He doesn’t ever intend to defend his past mistakes
The 75-year-old man is acutely aware that he cannot “roll the clock back” in order to undo his misconduct. But he chose to do the next best thing, he improved himself as a human being. He told THR, “All of those things I’ve addressed in the past. I feel bad about it… I have to be careful and be wiser. I’m smarter. I’m more sensitive about other people’s feelings”.
As for the accusations, as many as 6 women who came in contact with Schwarzenegger on movie sets, studio offices, or any other setting, accused him of touching them inappropriately in a sexual manner without their consent. In 2003, LA Times covered the story of these women, who remained anonymous and talked about how Schwarzenegger upset them and made them feel uncomfortable.
