From winning World’s Strongest Man in 2018 to overcoming depression, Hafthor Bjornsson has always strived to become the better version of himself. However, this year is nothing short of the darkest time of his life, as he suffered the sad demise of his newborn daughter. 

Despite all these adversities, Bjornsson has still gone all in with his dedication. It seems like he has laid out a roadmap to acquire his upcoming goals and targets. This became evident with his recent Instagram post through which he openly challenged Canadian strongman, Mitchell Hooper.

In a recent Instagram post, Bjornsson posted a video featuring himself engaged in training. Along with the workout video, he wrote a caption that said, @mitchellhooper Step up your game. I’m here to win!

 

The caption he wrote hinted at the upcoming competitions, and he wanted to make sure his rival became aware of his prowess and strength. The most fascinating aspect of the challenge was that it was accepted by Mitchell Hooper with a comment, “I’ll be ready.” 

Bjornsson, who has gone through the toughest time of his life this year, had once talked about how he had gone through depression in the past.

In order to register a historic win in Strongman sport, Bjornsson pushed his both physical and mental limits. He is hailed for the commendable victories he attained with struggles. In the Brian Shaw podcast, the Icelandic Strongman became candid about his lowest times post-retirement from Strongman.

After leaving the Strongman sport, Bjornsson did not spend much time before delving into the boxing world and training for his match against Eddie Hall. The strongman did not give his body a break and said that this was probably not the smartest movehe made. “I just went into some depression and just like low time for a moment, which is understandable when you put your body through so much, and you don’t give yourself some time to just relax and recover,” he said.
