American actor Zac Efron began his career at a very young age. He gained fame after acting in the High School Musical trilogy in the 2000s. Efron appeared in multiple movies afterward. He shared screen space with Dwayne Johnson, aka the Rock in the 2017 Movie ‘Baywatch’. In that film, the actor’s shockingly sculpted physique made his fans gasp in awe. Despite being cast against The Rock, Efron was the center of attraction for his super-jacked body.
According to the 35-year-old, to gain such a physique, apart from going through an intense workout regime, one had to follow a strict diet too. Efron revealed his diet during the high-gross movie.

However, while talking about his role in Baywatch, in a throwback interview with Men’s Health, he shared how difficult it was to build muscles to justify his character in the movie. The actor had to undergo a strict diet plan to ensure that he built the physique that was necessary.
According to Efron, “For most roles, you change something but I think probably the one role that I had to change the most for was probably Baywatch.” he further added to his statement, “That movie, I adopted a really, really specific eating regimen.” According to Efron, this was really hard as his eating habits were absolutely different from the diet he needed to adopt.
In addition, he mentioned a couple of items from his menu during that period:
“Clean fish or meat with sweet potatoes, like that and I just did that for the entire film. So that was the most extreme I had ever gone.” His hard work really paid off as he successfully carved out his muscles, with it still remaining a hot topic of conversation.ADVERTISEMENT

With a perfect diet, regime, and training, the actor got into great shape for the role. Efron obtained the kind of toned abs that most people hope for when trying to lose weight and build muscles. The transformation reportedly took just 12 weeks. He managed to put on 10 pounds of pure, lean muscle mass throughout the process.
He followed a workout session that included pushups, single-leg deadlifts, and shoulder presses. Many might find these exercises basic, but this helped Efron build his chest, shoulder, arms, and abs.
