Hollywood star, Mark Wahlberg pulled out the dying fitness franchise, Functional 45, from the water in 2019. He did so, by simply stepping in and promoting the endeavor, leading to $68 million worth of revenue gains. More so, his influence even lit the iron-pumping fire within Spiderman actor, Tom Holland. As he revealed in a 2021 magazine by Total Film, he had just begun shooting for his game-based movie adaptation, Uncharted, when he saw Wahlberg, who was playing the role of a mentor in the film.??

The young actor was instantly blown away by his insane proportions and reflected on his own fit but not yet massive physique. Soon, the pandemic hit and Holland looked at the greener side and used the time to train his heart out.?

According to the publication, the 26-year-old actor was playing the role of the lead character, Nathan Drake, who?s an adventure-seeker, out on a treasure hunt. However, when he first visited the set, he met Wahlberg, playing Sully, and was impressed by his physique. ?Mark is massive. He is a unit,? Holland told. Though not implying that his own physique was not great, it wasn?t as bulky as the American actor.?

Holland added, “I was in good shape, but I wasn?t by any means big.” As the pandemic hit days later, he knew what he had to do. He jumped on his bodybuilding escapade, trained, and consumed appropriate nutrition for five months straight. The English star?s aim was ?to put a bit of timber on? and also to make him appear bigger in size.?

In his words, ?to make me look not like a child next to Mark.? The source also revealed that the 51-year-old actor was once in line for the lead role itself. However, the production kept getting terminated, and thus, the narrative eventually looked for a younger version. This made Holland a probable fit for the role. Besides, his intentions for the role were bigger than simply portraying the character.?

As per the source, Holland related himself to Drake?s outgoing demeanor and said, ?In a similar way to Nathan Drake, I really just like adventure.” He claimed that he always seeks challenges and puts himself into trying new and innovative things. Revealing his wild side, the actor also illustrated his love for traveling and adventures.?

“I?m now using my job as an excuse to travel, and see the world, and meet amazing people,? the 5?8? star pointed out. In the challenge of fitting into Drake?s character, Holland ended up finding himself on the same page.?
