On New Year’s Day, Hollywood star Jeremy Renner met with a near-fatal accident. The Avengers actor was trying to stop a snowplow from hitting his nephew and stepped on the tracks. However, Renner’s heroics nearly ended in a fatality as the mammoth machine ran him over. Four months later, the Bourne Legacy star is making an incredible recovery. On May 5, MCU’s Hawkeye gave an update on the progress he has made, on Instagram.
Despite needing emergency care and breaking multiple bones, Jeremy Renner has been up and about lately. The actor also attended the premiere of his Disney+ show Rennervations in April with a walking stick. However, in his health update video, the 52-year-old stunned everyone as he filmed himself working out.

The Hollywood action star uploaded the video with the caption, “UPDATE: I’ve decided to push through the pain of progress (this d**n shattered tibia).” In the life-threatening accident, Renner broke at least 30 bones in his body after getting caught under the multi-ton snowplow. However, it would be hard to tell by how agile and nimble Renner looked in the video.
The Avengers actor explained he wanted to “take the new parts for a tiny test drive,” referring to the titanium bone replacements. “Even though I feel like the Tin Man, needing oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia etc),” Jeremy Renner even surprised himself after realizing how quickly the human body regenerates. In the video, the 52-year-old looked in great shape as he warmed up for his workout.

Renner grabbed TRX resistance bands as he did some spot jogging. He also performed band-supported bodyweight squats with a full range of motion. If no one knew what the actor went through, people would pass it off as just another warm-up. “Encouraged after this warm-up to press on ( don’t tell my PT),” wrote Renner. While the actor has done strength training to play Hawkeye, now he is training to rebuild his body. However, things looked critical when Renner was rushed into the emergency room back in January.

Doctors had to reconstruct Renner’s body
Jeremy Renner arrived in the hospital with broken ribs, a cracked eye socket, and a shattered tibia. Doctors wasted no time stabilizing the 52-year-old and then performed two major surgeries to put his body back together. Surgeons inserted titanium plating to reconstruct his eye socket. Similarly, they used titanium rods to secure his ribcage and protect Renner’s lungs.

They also inserted a titanium rod to hold his shattered tibia together. Despite the severe injuries, the superhero actor stayed only two weeks in the hospital. Since then, Renner has undergone constant rehab. Besides strength training, he is also using electric stimulation therapy on his leg.
