Female Deadlifter who is best known in strength sports as a world-record-setting powerlifter. However, she’s also a professional bodybuilder in the Women’s Physique category of the IFBB Pro League. She became a pro at the 2023 National Physique Committee (NPC) USA Championships in Las Vegas on July 29, 2023. Terry competed in the Women’s Physique division, Class B, and came in second place overall, with Nichele Litzsey winning first place.

She started doing bodybuilding competitions in 2022. She won first place at the NPC Dallas Championships that year. In the 2022 USA Championships, she came in fourth. After becoming a pro, she said she’ll have her first pro competition in 2025, but she hasn’t talked about whether she’ll keep doing powerlifting. She made headlines recently for breaking a record.

Brianny Terry record-breaking deadlift

Bisandtris recently posted on their official Instagram account with a message that said, “Brianny Terry [ IG: @briannyt ] sets an all-time world record by deadlifting 291 kg (641.54 lbs) at 75 kg (165 lbs) body weight. This comes after earning her IFBB Pro card just 3 months earlier.”

Brianny Terry lifted the heaviest weight ever for a woman in her weight category (75 kilograms) in a raw-sanctioned meet. She did this at the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2 competition on October 29 in Manassas, VA. She lifted 291 kilograms in the deadlift, which broke the old record held by Sara Schiff by half a kilogram. Schiff had lifted 290.5 kilograms in May 2023. So, Terry is now the new record holder for the heaviest deadlift by a woman.

Terry approached the barbell with a serious look, knowing it was a big moment in history. She stood a certain way and held the barbell with one hand over and one hand under, wearing a headband, a tight outfit, and a belt for support. She was ready for lifting the barbell and break the record till then.

10-second journey to a world record in powerlifting

When she lifted the barbell, it took about 10 seconds to get it all the way up. She held it briefly and then got the signal to put it down from the head judge. After a moment of tension, she saw that all three judges agreed she did it right, and she realized she had broken the world record. Terry did well in her powerlifting competition. She succeeded in seven out of nine attempts, including a strong deadlift that broke a world record. It was the eighth record to fall at the American Pro 2, and her fifth in deadlifting.

Even though Terry broke a new record, she ended up in fifth place in the competition’s Best Lifter rankings.
