Shaw shared his ordeal with his fans on his YouTube channel. He bought some antibiotics to treat his leg injury at home, thinking it would be enough. However, the infection became so severe that he had to go to the hospital. Thankfully, the infection did not spread to his bloodstream. He might have needed an amputation. But things did not go that far. Shaw faced a challenge in the hospital to keep up with his diet. However, he found ways to not get derailed by this major mishap. His wife helped him with his diet food and also ordered from the hospital menu.

Strongman Champion was hell-bent to keep his diet on track because of the Shaw Classic Championship. This competition will be his last. It is heartening to see Shaw retire, but he is doing so on his own time and terms. He will definitely leave in style.
