In his recently shared post on Instagram, he looked back at the first competition he participated in since his car accident and mentions how he dominated the whole lineup despite several broken bones.

Wheeler’s comeback was personal

In a cruel twist of fate, Flex Wheeler’s life took an unexpected turn when he was involved in a devastating car crash in the 90s. The accident left him in a critical condition, fighting for his very survival. “Just a little under six months after breaking my neck, C4 and C5. Fracturing my collarbone. In a horrific car crash at over 190 miles an hour. Completely self-inflicted,” Wheeler stated.

Many believed that this tragic event would mark the end of his celebrated career as a professional bodybuilder, however, Flex Wheeler had other plans. Despite facing physical and emotional turmoil, Flex Wheeler embarked on a journey of recovery that would astound the world. He mentions in his recent post that he often underestimated himself, so he had to prove to himself that he could still stand up. “I entered the 1995 IFBB pro IronMan and smashed it,” he revealed further.

Flex Wheeler’s triumphant return to the stage, a mere six months after the life-altering accident, was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
