Renowned seven-time Mr. Olympia, Phil Heath, has sparked a conversation about gym habits of using tripods to film videos during a session. Rather than passing judgment and he’s genuinely curious about the reasons behind this trend.

He took to his Instagram to express his curiosity. In the video, he mentioned doing some exercise in the gym where he noticed that a few people were setting the tripods to shoot a perfect video for social media. This incident put a question in his mind and he freely asked his followers about it which is more important building muscle or getting a perfect shot.

Though Heath’s question didn’t end there, in his post caption he asked another question that reflects his deep curiosity to know the youngster’s intentions. He began with, “I’m happy that many of you are in the gym getting after it!” then he came straight to the point, “I do have a question as to why you are there. It is not an attack, as I’m curious about the thoughts and intentions behind these actions.” He made a few points during this video and said that he believes there’s a middle ground where both aspects can be harmonized without excessive stress.

Heath believes it is possible when you can maintain movement in the gym without hyper-focusing on the setup for the video. “Many who film are being mindful of their surroundings which may create some feelings of anxiety like, ‘Oh sh*t I need to hurry up because someone is watching me and I don’t wanna disrupt someone’s workout’ or ‘I need to get this perfect so I can grow my following because I saw someone else do this and they get more engagement,” stated the 44-year-old. Besides asking questions he came up with a solution, too.

He suggested that individuals who film in the gym might experience some anxiety about bothering others or seeking more social media followers. The dream killer’s advice is simple- take it slow! calmly breathe, organize your gym routine deliberately, and plan your workout either by vocalizing it in the car or silently in your mind as the pre-workout kicks in.
