Dr. Israetel has a Ph.D. in sports physiology and often participates in the intellectual debate surrounding the bodybuilding arena. His latest thoughts reveal his concerns for modern gym goers.

Dr. Israetel recently spilled beans on the right way of mobility training, noting that “a lot of times mobility work turns into, like, a circus act.” The professor points out how Gen Z most often reduces the extreme load of an exercise and ends up making it quirky. However, Israetel professes to not go light on the weight aspect to achieve a greater range of mobility.

“So, if someone wants to do some super range-of-motion mobility exercises, they have to be challenging, they have to be progressable and overloadable, they have to strengthen a specific movement, and the last part is a movement that you can actually use in the sport you think you’re going to use it,” he said in a conversation with Eugene Teo.

Impressing Dr. Israetel is pretty hard, given his immense knowledge of efficient workout techniques and diet routines to build a physique. However, the professor is not all about criticism but also shares valuable insights on different workout regimes. Earlier, he was critical about arm workouts.

The bodybuilding professionals train different muscle groups in the body to attain symmetry. However, building bulkier arms isn’t very simple, and many don’t understand the perfect technique or the correct order of exercises to train arms. But Dr. Israetel suggests bicep curls, the first thing on an arm day for bulking them up.
Then, one can hop to bent rows, dumbbell rows, pull-downs, and lateral raises. Also, he underscores how it is important to master the basic exercises before moving on to the advanced exercises. Not just workout routines, Dr. Israetel also shares his profound knowledge of diet routines and isn’t a great fan of intermittent fasting. He declares it to be not suitable for all.
