The Baltimore Orioles currently sit atop the MLB East American League table. The MLB team solidified their spot at the top with a series win over the second-placed Tampa Bay Rays. While the Orioles recently found success, their track record against the Rays at Tropicana Bay has been quite disappointing for the last two years. Orioles broadcaster Kevin Brown covered the final day of the series. However, earlier news broke that the MLB team had removed Brown as broadcaster following the game. The 29-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick, a baseball fan, couldn’t believe the news.

Earlier, Patrick Schwarzenegger took to social media to share his frustration over the decision. The bodybuilding legend’s son shared a video clip on X (formerly known as Twitter). According to the source, it was the comment Brown made in the clip that earned him a suspension. However, Schwarzenegger struggled to find what Brown said wrong.

The Terminal List actor shared a video by Jomboy Media. The caption of the video reads, “Orioles broadcaster Kevin Brown has been suspended indefinitely for making these comments about the Orioles’ record against the Rays.” The clip was barely a minute long and contained the comments for which the Orioles ownership suspended the broadcaster.

After two games going the Baltimore Orioles’ way on July 23, Brown said the MLB team has “at least a split in the series, winning two.” However, the broadcaster painted a not-so-optimistic picture before game three. While reading the stats, Brown mentioned that the series leaders had lost their last “15 series here at Tropicana Bay.” This was part of the game notes from the Orioles’ public relations staff.

However, the ownership allegedly took issue and handed the suspension to Brown. The actor son of Arnold Schwarzenegger struggled to find out why reading out legitimate stats would result in a suspension. “How someone gets suspended for this is ridiculous. He literally didn’t say anything. Appeal!” wrote the actor, who isn’t afraid to voice his opinions on sports.

Others who commented on the Jomboy Media post seemed equally baffled. So what’s the reason behind the suspension?

Why did the Baltimore Orioles suspend Kevin Brown?

Kevin Brown has worked as a broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles since 2019. Within a year, Brown became one of the most popular broadcasters during Orioles telecasts and has remained popular. Hence, the suspension shocked fans, as most didn’t think he said anything wrong during the broadcast. The Athletic reached out to Brown’s agent for comment, but they declined.

This isn’t the first time the All-East leader’s ownership has made such a decision. In 2021, they dismissed Ryan Wagner, an announcer, mere hours before an opener at home. They cited some of Wagner’s past tweets for the dismissal. However, the Orioles have declined to comment on the Kevin Brown situation.
