Michael Fassbender hits the gym to stay mentally sane

Michael Fassbender was recently interviewed and featured on the official YouTube channel of Men’s Health. He went candid about his life choices and how he deliberately stays for, even when he is not working. During the revelation, the X-Men star revealed a secret that helps him stay mentally sane, even when he is on vacation. 

In the interview, he said, “If I’m traveling around like now I might go to the gym and use some machines just you know for strength work and I do that more for the mental benefits as opposed to the physical benefits.” He further goes about how working out helps him stay jubilant throughout the day and energizes his spirit.

The superstar further added, “I mean both are good but I find like mentally it sets me up for the day if I go and hit the gym first thing in the morning.” However, Michael Fassbender makes sure that he does not go too hard on himself for the transformation. He realized this after he made his body go through hell for a character that he played on screen.

Michael Fassbender shares why he wont ever go hard on his body

For one of his roles, Michael Fassbender went very hard on himself and only had a low-calorie diet so that he could lose weight. Revealing the diet he went through for his movie, The Hunter, he said, “So, that was just basically a tin of sardines, some berries, and a handful of nuts, I wouldn’t do that to my body again.”

He would only have 1000 calories a day, and he got down to 141 pounds. He then dropped to 600 calories per day and although he looked perfect for the role, he says that he doesn’t want to go through it ever again.
