It also ended his 25-year marriage with journalist and ex-wife Maria Shriver, and his family underwent a gruesome transition. Besides, he himself addresses it as the biggest failure of his life.
However, even after years of trying to make things right, the former athlete is still criticized for his past actions, often publicly. Likewise, a recent episode of The View displayed host Joy Behar joking about his affair, per Twitter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger still under scrutiny for his past
As per a post by the official handle of The View on Wednesday, the 75-year-old athlete’s name popped up in a discussion among the hosts of the chat show. It features six TV personalities, among whom comedian Joy Behar seemed to relate Arnie’s antics to the ongoing chat. “It’s like the Arnold Schwarzenegger story…” she hinted.

The hosts were discussing a query sent in by a woman with a secret love affair, which reminded the 80-year-old host of the IFBB pro’s past. Furthermore, she had an interesting revelation about his affair as well. “He had an affair with the maid because men are so lazy. They have to look in the next room to find somebody to do it with, and these people are available to him,” Behar joked.
When discussing the question, though, co-host Whoopi Goldberg deemed it one of the “stupidest” stories on the show. According to the source, a woman had just ended her affair with her partner and wrote to the New York Times in panic. Her concern was that she and her husband were invited to a dinner party by the same man. She asked for advice, which left the co-hosts in a daze. Nonetheless, speaking of Arnie’s love affair, he once recalled the nightmarish experience of confessing the truth to Maria.
Arnold Schwarzenegger faces reality
In a previous interview with People, the actor claimed that he felt “reluctant” to recall his separation from his ex-wife. However, the moment that changed everything was when Arnie admitted the truth in front of Maria. The ex-couple was in a marriage counseling session when Arnie was asked about the truth by the counselor.

“I think today Maria wants to be very specific about something. She wants to know if you are the father of Joseph,” the athlete said, recalling the time. Furthermore, he expressed how he felt at that moment: “I thought my heart stopped, and then I told the truth.” The confession came after his governor’s term ended in 2011.
