Dorian Yates was one of the pioneers of the Mass Monster Era in bodybuilding, and ever since, he has had a reputation for being one of the toughest training partners. Winning six consecutive Mr. Olympia titles was definitely not a walk in the park. It required major intensive workout sessions.
Paul Baxendale and Dorian Yates have had years of training sessions together. Years later, the former bodybuilder shares photos, training tips, and guidance that were approved and practiced by the mass monster himself. Baxendale recently opened up about hamstring curls and how Yates used to do it.

Baxendale revealed that after two warm-up sets, Yates would approach this working set of hamstring workouts. He stated in his caption, “There isn’t much to say about form on lying hamstring curls except to say to keep your hips and body flat against the pad and let your hamstrings do all the work.” Then he proceeded to talk about how the stacks used to be about 180 lbs.

He also recalled that Yates usually did stiff-legged deadlifts right after the curls. Baxendale remembered, “With legs stiff, but not straight; a small bend in the knee, he’d initially bend down to pick up the bar taking it to the starting position.” The bodybuilder remembered their extensively intense workout sessions and how they yielded results that made a legacy on their own.
Dorian Yates and Paul Baxendale never knew when to stop when it came to their exercises. Baxendale once recalled how they had trained so much once that they felt pain in its extreme sense.

In one of his earlier posts, Paul Baxendale brought up their leg day at the Temple Gym in 1993. The former bodybuilder recalled, “Two exercises into our leg day, that’s two working sets in and I feel like I’ve been hit by a train!” However, that was not all. The bodybuilder remembered that they still proceeded to do Hack Squats right after their intense leg workouts.
Hack Squats after a heavy leg workout session can be extremely difficult, but the duo kept going. In the same way, along with Dorian Yates, Paul Baxendale often experienced and learned the right way of doing exercises like the hamstring Curls.
