Antoine Vaillant, the Men’s Open division bodybuilding sensation, has set the internet ablaze with his recent off-season physique update. Standing at an impressive 290 pounds, Vaillant’s transformation is nothing short of jaw-dropping. Known for his inspiring comeback story, Vaillant is time and again proving why he is a force to be reckoned with.

After securing a top ten placement at the 2024 Arnold Classic, Vaillant has shared his latest progress on Instagram, showcasing four casual bodybuilding poses. “Physique update somewhere just below 290,” he wrote.

Vaillant also revealed  that he was “Trying to lose weight this off-season as I can’t afford to push the scale anymore. Every time I go over 290 I can’t get my BP down in the 120s easily. I did the same before the Arnold and was still at my best ever!” Interestingly, Vaillant’s journey began at the age of 15, inspired by bodybuilding magazines.

He recalls how amazed he was after witnessing the physiques of Mr. Olympia‘s athletes. “I researched on the internet using an old PC with a dial-up connection. I found bodybuilding message boards and learned and learned,” Vaillant had said during an interview. This early fascination with the sport motivated him to start training, initially with just one dumbbell in his bedroom.

By 2004, Vaillant was ready to compete. Despite never having trained in a gym before, he joined a local facility and informed the owner of his competitive ambitions. Remarkably, a year later, he competed at 16 and won his class. Reflecting on this period, he shares, “I did this all by myself. It gave me great satisfaction and self-empowerment. So I kept doing it.” Vaillant’s determination paid off in 2012 when he earned his IFBB pro card at the Canadian Nationals.
