The name of bodybuilder turned Hollywood star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is synonymous with the action film industry, as he eventually emerged as the leading star in the 90s. However, all of his endeavors were not as pleasant as the box-office collections. The 1987 blockbuster film, Predator, was a hit among the audience, grossing over $98 million. However, Arnie and the crew had a rough time filming it.?

Despite that, fitness icons Brandon and Hudson, popularly known as the Buff Dudes, listed the John McTiernan-led film as one of their greatest childhood inspirations in fitness. Here?s why.?

Earlier this month, the two YouTube personalities shared an interesting list of films that they claim to have had a ripple effect on their fitness journeys. Notably, Schwarzenegger?s Predator also made the list of the two bodybuilders. That?s not all. They also hailed the film?s crew as the ?manliest cast of all time.?

After a discussion on the former Hercules franchise greats like Reg Park, Steve Reeves, and Lou Ferrigno, the athletes shed light on the indomitable collection of athletes and fitness idols from various disciplines. Hence, Hudson chimed in and said, ?What happens when you take a seven-time Mr. Olympian, a Navy SEAL turn wrestler, a former NFL player, a p*rn star, a Vietnam vet, the writer of Lethal Weapon, and a dude who eats Green Berets for breakfast? You get 1987’s Predator.??

The movie was the two brothers’ favorite pick ?for the manliest cast of all time and quite possibly the manliest movie of all time.? On top of that, the alien serving as the predator was also played by late basketball player Kevin Peter Hall, with a 7?2 stature, which was ideal for portraying an unworldly creature. Yet, the crew?s experience during the shoots was a miserable time.?

In a previous interview, the 75-year-old actor once revealed how the cast faced several challenges during the shoots. While the location was an ideal setting for the film, it was not the same for the actors. Many of them kept falling sick because of the odd temperatures and humidity.

Moreover, the stars had to perform risky stunts and cross rough terrain and waterfalls. Therefore, Arnold marked it as “a very torturous experience in many ways,” in the resurfaced interview from 2003. He claimed it was more of a miserable ordeal for the actors while it seemed fun for the audience.?
