He said, “I’m going to have to say pull-ups, just for injury prevention,” and he also added, “I have bad shoulders and, just from hanging, it has got my shoulders out of a lot of pain.”

So according to Luke, shoulder health is extremely important, and strengthening the shoulder muscles with the hanging and moving through the pull-up is going to benefit everyone. Zocchi agrees with the fact that there needs to be proper training in body weight exercises before progressing to free weights.

He said, “Chris and I do a lot of bodyweight movements: chin-ups, push-ups, squats—they’re the base. That’s where you should always start.” According to Hemsworth’s fitness coach, Luke, the best way to start this exercise is by using a strong pull-up bar and a long loop-resistant band. Luke had earlier shared that Hemsworth used functional workouts and focused on recovery rather than weight training for his role in ‘Extraction 2.’
