2023 has been a rejoicing one for fitness enthusiasts as they find their mailbox filled with fitness tips from the bodybuilding legend, Arnie and a playlist with his podcast. In a recent podcast, the Austrian Oak stunned his listeners by sharing the donut theory.

The “Terminator” icon believes in a sustainable healthy lifestyle that helps in the long term. So, he advises his fitness tribe to inculcate habits that could last long and promote mental and physical well-being. So, quashing the regular norms of restricting sweet intake while on a weight loss journey, Arnie shared a science-backed donut theory. 

In his latest podcast, the 75-year-old detailed a research-based study that proved people on a breakfast routine with dessert have managed to lose 35 lbs more than those who skipped the sweet meal. “It is the type of study that makes you question science, but the details make it clear what happened and why does the dessert-based diet worked, ” Arnie said in his podcast. 

Long story short, scientists have analyzed two groups of people, one having a high-carb dessert breakfast and the other a low-carb, low-calorie breakfast for 216 weeks (1600 total calories for men, 1400 calories for women).

The two groups managed to lose approximately equal weight in the first 16 weeks under monitoring. But the next sixteen weeks were self-supervised, and the high-carb dessert lost another 15 pounds while the low-carb, low-calorie group gained around an average of 25 lbs of lost weight. “Let those numbers sink in. The researchers felt the dessert helped reduce cravings and built a more sustainable habit,” Arnie concluded his podcast. Earlier, the FUBAR star revealed his favorite dessert to his fan club, signifying their importance in life.

The Governator is helping fitness enthusiasts by sharing scientifically proven knowledge through his newsletter. Earlier, he also shared his recipe book, that included an Austrian dessert recipe that his mother used to make for him,Kaiserschmarrn.

Revealing the importance of desserts in his life, the Twins icon confessed, “If we can’t eat sweets, what’s the point of being healthy?” However, the catch is Arnie never consumes higher calories to keep himself fit despite old age.
