Arnold Schwarzenegger has had his fair share of controversies and prejudices in the past. From creating the controversy in 1980 Mr. Olympia to intentionally advising the wrong project to Sylvester Stallone, the bodybuilding icon has gone through hard scrutiny during his long career. But the legendary bodybuilder and actor recently claimed that things have drastically changed for him. The Austrian Oak added that the changes are on the positive side. 

The 7-time Mr. Olympia champion recently made headlines as he opened up about how he no longer identifies anyone with labels. Thus emphasizing the importance of seeing everyone as individuals.

Arnold reveals his changed approach to perceiving people

The Hollywood superstar recently appeared for an interview to discuss his Netflix project, which has been grabbing a lot of attention in recent times. However, the topic of Schwarzenegger’s book came up. Some perceive the book as being directed toward young men who consider themselves ‘alpha males’. When the reporter asked Schwarzenegger about what he feels regarding such titles, he said that he always sees everyone as a person and not from the titles 

Schwarzenegger said that his perspective on labels and identities stems from his background in bodybuilding. He explained that during his bodybuilding days, everyone on stage was seen as equal, regardless of their color or religion. The focus was solely on their achievements and dedication to the sport. “If you’re Black and lost 200 pounds or if you’re Chinese, it makes no Fuc***g difference.”, he told The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor acknowledged that he is not perfect and has made mistakes in the past, admitting to instances of prejudice and disrespect. However, he emphasized his ongoing effort to grow and change. Schwarzenegger expressed his commitment to becoming a better person, stating, “I’m trying.” The legendary bodybuilder has been open about his mistakes in the past as well.

In August 2021, when the whole world was trying to save their lives amidst the COVID pandemic, Schwarzenegger found himself amid controversy when he made a statement that stirred intense debate, During the height of the pandemic, the Austrian Oak was trying to urge people to wear masks, however, his wrong choice of words saying “screw your freedom” drew significant backlash from many people.

Recognizing the impact of his words, Schwarzenegger recently addressed the issue in a public apology through his Twitter account. He tweeted, “I’m sorry for saying those words. I try to be relentlessly positive, but sometimes my mouth gets ahead of me. I should have communicated better.” Search instances show that Arnold has been open about his shortcomings and never shies away from addressing them. His admission of having prejudices and accepting his mistakes is itself a strong example. It is a testament that the Austrian Oak has improved over the years.
