Australian bodybuilding icon Lee Priest had a storied career. He even beat eight-time Mr. Olypia Ronnie Coleman a year before Coleman started his dominant run as champion. However, besides possessing one of the best arms in bodybuilding, Priest was also famous for his straightforward, no-nonsense approach. In fact, the IFBB once banned the NABBA Mr. Universe for a year after competing for Wayne DeMilia.
However, to this day the 51-year-old maintains his straightforwardness. Leee Priest calls out what he feels is wrong without hesitation. The bodybuilder isn’t afraid to take names of those who he has problems with either. Recently, the bodybuilding held nothing back when he voiced his opinion on taking advice from competition judges.

Lee Priest answered if he ever cared about the judges’ advice in a short YouTube clip. In the video clip, Priest answered he knew competitors who would go to the judges to ask them for advice after each competition. However, he didn’t care for it. “I look at these judges. They’ve never competed themselves,” said the 51-year-old.
Priest didn’t think people who never went through the process of preparing for a show could give him advice to improve. “There’s a lot of them that are fat. And they’re gonna give me diet advice on what I should do? What advice could they give me?” the former Mr. Universe said in the video. He also said that many of the judges only studies the sport and didn’t even workout in the gym.
He even compared them to “the average guy.” According to Priest anyone can watch a show and say “I think you need to come in tighter. I think you need to die hard harder.” However, such statements don’t make someone an expert. “So these judges are just people,” said Priest. Hence, Lee Priest didn’t value their advice. The bodybuilder also had a similar approach to other so-called experts.
