Legendary bodybuilder Sergio Oliva was the reigning Mr. Olympia before Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived in America. Despite his talent, The Austrian Oak couldn’t beat Sergio Oliva when they first faced off on stage. Now, the son of The Myth follows in his father’s footsteps and dreams of winning the coveted Sandow trophy. However, recently Sergio Oliva Jr. has faced many obstacles in his path to success. 

Oliva Jr. is active on social media but had not posted anything for almost a month. Earlier today, the bodybuilder revealed the reason behind his sudden disappearance from social media. In his latest post, the 2023 Muscle contest bronze medal winner said he struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one.

The Myth’s son thanked everyone who had reached out to the bodybuilder out of concern. However, he didn’t have good news for his fans. The 38-year-old bodybuilder revealed he has had a hard time coping with the loss of his beloved pet Khaleesi. “About a month ago I lost the only constant thing in my life for the last 12 years,” said the bodybuilding icon.

“I haven’t been dealing with it well at all…” added Oliva Jr. Furthermore, the pro bodybuilder still doesn’t know why his companion passed away. “None of the Vets really could tell me what was wrong with her the weeks leading to it,” said the heartbroken bodybuilder. After his detention ordeal in Dubai threw prevented him from competing in Brazil, losing Khaleesi is another blow.

However, while his training and mental health is suffering, the Myth’s son is “trying to focus on the cool life she (Khaleesi) had.” In his post, Oliva Jr. revealed that fellow pro bodybuilders raised Khaleesi. The legendary Tom Platz and Ironman Pro winner Chris Cormier were Khaleesi’s roommates. She also traveled the world With Oliva Jr.

2023 has not been a good year for Sergio Oliva Jr. First; the bodybuilder got detained in Dubai for an accident. Now he has lost his dearest companion. However, the bodybuilder is determined to compete again and always has the blessing of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In 2020, Sergio Oliva Jr. placed fifth at the Arnold Classic. While the 38-year-old didn’t, he impressed Arnie with his posing routine. Oliva Jr. emulated his legendary father’s posing routine and added his own flair to it. The performance netted him the Ed Corney Best Poser Award. After pressing the award, Arnold Schwarzenegger interviewed the young bodybuilder.

During the short interview, the Austrian Oak told how impressive Oliva Jr’s posing routine was. Arnie said that even though Sergio Oliva Senior wasn’t alive to see his son on the Arnold Classic stage, he would feel the same pride Arnie himself felt. Schwarzenegger also said he would like to see the 38-year-old win the Arnold Classic title.

While Sergio Oliva Jr. is going through a rough patch, the bodybuilder is determined to compete regularly. Will he win the Arnold Classic title in the future? Only time will tell.
