A similar incident occurred recently when the late bodybuilder and the Herculean heartthrob Steve Reeves was compared to an iconic movie character. 

Steve Reeves is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern bodybuilding for possessing an exceptional physique. However, it was his resemblance to the iconic Clark Kent, alter ego of Superman, that truly caught the attention of fans.

The latest post by the popular Instagram page dedicated to Steve Reeves recently created a buzz with an old picture of him. In a throwback picture that recently surfaced online, Steve Reeves could be seen standing while wearing a shirt pointing out his broad shoulders and muscular frame. One fan commented, Those wide wide shoulders, what a build,” while the other one added, “Wow definitely a new one of Steve!” 

However, it was Reeves’ facial features that were matching with Clark Kent’s persona that set social media abuzz with comparisons and admiration for Reeves’ uncanny resemblance to the fictional character. Fans couldn’t help but drool over the stunning physique and undeniable resemblance showcased in the photograph. A fan pointed out, looks like Clark Kent in this photo.” Another fan wrote, “A God stands before us…”

Fans also acknowledged His contribution to the bodybuilding and entertainment community. A fan wrote, “He started it for me as a kid watching his B&W sword and sandals movies.” The picture showcased his dedication to bodybuilding and commitment to maintaining a remarkable physique. However, the accidental resemblance to Clark Kent only served to elevate his status as a beloved figure within the bodybuilding community.

Steve Reeves opened on the importance of genetics

It is no doubt that the legendary bodybuilder was a visionary, as even after retiring from the sport in the 1960s, he was aware of all the developments going on in and out of the sport. Reeves also made a strong statement about the use of external performance-enhancing drugs in bodybuilding. He said in a video, “During my time, I believe that bodybuilding was a health-oriented sport while now, it is all about unhealthy, chemically induced gains and all.”

The senior bodybuilder always advised juniors to not fall for the glamorous side of the sport and choose it only if they have the genetics to perform at a higher level. The resemblance to Clark Kent may have caught the attention of fans and media, but it is Reeves’ Legacy that .transcends much beyond that.
