Physical fitness and well-being are extremely important to even our pets. Ensuring overall well-being and good health is also one of the duties of a pet parent apart from just providing a cozy bed and nutritious meals. Just like humans, even our pets reap the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle.
In an attempt to do the same, a pet parent recently got her pet a fitness wheel to ensure that her pet turtle doesn’t have a sedentary lifestyle. As she posted the video recently on her TikTok account, the clip soon went viral grabbing the attention of countless pet parents who realized the importance of providing their pets the required exercise in order to ensure a longer and healthier life.

The little tortoise in debate goes by the name of Basil. Her parent, Sarah recently got her a fitness wheel in order to ensure that the tortoise completes its daily step goal. In the caption of her TikTok video, Sarah wrote, “She’s committed to fitness.” In the clip, she teaches Basil how to use the new fitness wheel she bought for him, and this intuitive turtle picks up on it very quickly.
The video went on to defy the age-old story that we all heard in our childhood about turtles being slow. As Basil slowly got the hang of it, she went fast on the wheel. In order to get Basil off the wheel, Sarah offered her a treat. Sarah wrote in the video, “I also showed her how to get off (notice the treat for motivation)” However, she soon climbed back on the wheel in order to crush her daily step goal.
This is not the first case where a pet took up fitness. A while ago, another wholesome video made its way to the internet where a pet dog could be seen doing squats with his owner.
