Fitness and bodybuilding are among Mark Wahlbergs favorite things to invest time on. Besides acting, the shredded 53-year-old regularly wakes up at 4:00 A.M. to workout. He also doesn’t shy away from physically demanding roles that require him to transform his physique. In 2013, the Uncharted actor did that when he starred in?Pain and Gain. While Wahlberg had maintained a great physique since his days as a musician,?Pain and Gain?required him to bulk up.

A video uploaded by the Instagram page Willfitnesshub revealed that the actor put on an insane 40 lbs of muscle in seven weeks. Such immense muscle gain by someone who has already worked out for over a decade is unheard of in professional bodybuilding. After learning about Wahlberg’s bulk, the fitness community went into denial.

The video Willfitnesshub uploaded featured clips from?Pain and Gain,?where the then 42-year-old showed off his jacked physique. The Instagram reel also featured other clips from an old interview. During the interview, Mark Wahlberg revealed how much muscle he put on for the role and how he did it. Besides working out, the actor ate an insane diet.

“I was committed to getting as big as possible,” said Wahlberg in one of the clips. The Transformer’s actor added he was “lifting as heavy as possible,”?to gain muscle. To lift heavy and gain so much muscle in seven weeks, Wahlberg also had to eat thousands of calories a day. However, it becomes challenging to reach such high-calorie goals without supplementation.

So Wahlberg drank?“two or three mass gainer shakes a day,” because mass gainers provide upwards of 400 calories with just one serving. Hence, it’s safe to say that the actor was getting around 1200 calories or more simply through beverages. However, despite the insane calorie intake, Willfitnesshub questioned if Wahlberg used steroids to reach his goal. The fitness community thinks so.

The fitness community denied Wahlberg’s claims

People who commented on the post didn’t think mark wahlberg was telling the truth or might have been misinformed.?”It’s called steroids. This bloke has been light cycling for decades. 40 pounds of muscle,” wrote one user with a lighting emoticon. Someone who believed Wahlberg’s claim commented, “insecure pretty much.”?However, the individual others in the comments shut down the individual.

Another skeptical fan also had doubts.?“40 pounds in 7 weeks… even on steroids that’s insane,”?commented the fitness enthusiast.
