Gaspari shared his leg workout, expecting that fans might not like it. He expressed in his caption, “Great workout today on legs. Did some really heavyweights for 12 to 15 reps on some of the machines. I know I’m gonna get comments about me lifting heavy at my age.” He assured his fans by saying that he has 40 years of experience and knows his limits.

The Dragon Slayer, emphasizes his desire not to hurt himself and requests fans to refrain from making negative comments. Gaspari expressed feeling good about his workout and highlighted his last exercise, leg extensions. He holds the weight at the top for five seconds before slowly lowering it, which creates a strong burn according to Gaspari.

The Itch mentioned in the caption that he enjoys training with intensity and follows a routine of heavy lifting every other week to avoid burnout. The 60-year-old prefers using moderate weights, and doing slow reps with full form during his workouts. While he expressed confidence in his ability to handle the weights safely, fans couldn’t help but voice their concern about the form and choices of weights.

Fans questioned form and heavy lifting at this age

One fan expressed disappointment, stating, “All the years of experience and not a full rep in sight.”

Other followers, despite their admiration for the IFBB pro’s achievements, raised questions about the necessity of such acute training, “Why so heavy on the set?”

Netizens’ concern seemed to revolve around the belief that lifting heavy weights at a certain age might pose a risk of injury. “But why the heavyweight, your legs are done growing big at that age” and “I love you Rich. But why so heavy on the sets?”

Fans also noticed the technique Gaspari used in his leg routine, with one fan stating, “I have been a fan for a long time…No Disrespect But, I thought that You were NEVER supposed to lock Your knees on any leg exercises?”
One pointed out that the heavy weight might not be as beneficial for someone at the later stages of their bodybuilding career. “You’d think somebody as successful as Gaspari, would know how to lift. Quarter reps out of the stretched position cause growth, not the other way around. These are almost useless reps brother. Nothing but respect for your company and your career but posting this stuff is cringe-worthy.”
