Veteran bodybuilder, Lee Priest has once again found himself in the limelight for a controversial comment on the competitive arena of bodybuilding. This time, Priest has criticized athletes for not participating in enough competitions throughout the year.

According to Priest, this trend is damaging the sport itself. He expressed his discontent with a lack of competitions between major events like the Mr. Olympia. He arguably said that despite numerous shows leading up to the Olympia, many competitors chose not to compete. Unlike the Nigerian Lion, Samson Dauda, who wanted to promote the sport not only the competition.

Nevertheless, the Blond Myth minced no words, calling out these athletes as “lazy” and accusing them of ruining the image of the sport. In a recent post on Instagram shared by Generation Iron, Priest openly accused many popular and newly crowned bodybuilders of not competing enough.

The Giant Killer said in his statement, “You Wonder why this sport is looked at as being pretty pathetic and a joke with lazy c*nts who won’t get off your a** and compete.” He didn’t stop there and further suggested that “The IFBB should make you Fu*ck*ng compete. That’s for sure. Get off your Fu*ck*ng as**es and do it. I said, you get pretty pathetic. Real pathetic.”

Furthermore, he also pointed out that there’s not enough money for bodybuilders in competitions. He stated that promoters must offer more prize money, as it might make competitions better. His statement has received mixed reactions from the fans.

Fans lambast Lee Priest

Sports fanatics expressed their opinions and concerns about the financial challenges athletes face. Notably, “So basically he’s advocating for bodybuilders to put their health at even greater risk than we already do. Fabulous….” Similarly, “They need to increase the prize money if they are going to force you to compete or there needs to be a pro salary.”

Not everyone is an overnight phenom,” “Unfortunately these days there’s no money in it like it used to be!” Another added, “Should be a minimum 1 comp a year to keep your pro card.”
