Her years of dedication and unwavering commitment towards the sport also helped her gain international recognition as she became the first woman from Iceland to compete in the CrossFit games.

Her feats of strength have brought her head-to-head with a lot of legends. In one such recent instance, ThoAnnie Thorisdottir was seen killing it in the gym with the 6″9′ Strongman beast.

Annie Thorisdottir hits the gym with Hafthor Bjornsson

The Icelandic CrossFit athlete recently took to her official Instagram account and shared a story of herself working out with Hafthor Bjornsson, the Strongman beast, in the gym. In the story, she wrote, “Training to fight THE MOUNTAIN from behind with a stick @thethorbjornsson.”

Hafthor Bjornsson also shared her story mention a few hours ago. Both the legends were seen hitting their arm workouts hard. On one side, Annie Thorisdottir was intensely doing a set of over-the-head triceps extensions in the cable, while in the cable beside her, Bjornsson was seen pulling off his set of triceps push-downs.

Well, life has not been easy for Annie Thorisdottir. Having given birth to a baby girl, things changed for her, and it turned out to be a traumatic phase. In her article, My Postpartum Fall: Speaking Up, Thorisdottir opened up about everything that she faced during that period.

Coming back from rock bottom

As she gave birth to her baby girl, the following months have led to her going through suffering both mentally and emotionally. It took her a lot to come to terms with the reality that her body could not function the way it did before.

This scared the CrossFit athlete, and it was then that she decided to start training so that she could feel whole again. She said, “It wasn’t because I had to compete at the CrossFit Games.
