The reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique winner Chris Bumstead has time and again proven that he is the most commanding champion in the realm of bodybuilding. Having acquired the title four times in a row, his eyes are set on it one more time this year.

The Canadian bodybuilder has been training hard, giving his all in, with his last year’s fitness ‘guru’ Hany Rambod, who he also credited for his win. However, just 14 weeks away from the competition, CBum was seen indulging in something that he must absolutely avoid in order to level up his physique.

Chris Bumstead recently took to his official YouTube channel to share his fitness update. He captioned it “Hamstring Workout | Back To Canada”. In the middle of the video, just when he was about to finish his regime with a set of calf raises, he went and grabbed something that he must completely avoid.

After his workout, Chris Bumstead started drinking his protein shake. Well, you must wonder how protein shakes could harm him. The flavor was mint chocolate!

He said, “I haven’t had this flavor in like you know since it came out probably. So feeling nostalgic today.”

He admitted that his coach Hany Rambod may scold him if he catches him consuming it. “I know Hany’s about to tell me there are fu****g chocolate chips in it, you can’t eat it, so the last few couples of times I can enjoy it and then we’ll say goodbye to mint chocolate chip,” he added.

Beyond the one bad habit which wishes to quit soon, Bumstead’s prep for 2023 Mr.  Olympia is going great. He feels confident to bag the title one more time. He even revealed his morning routine for the training session before he appears on stage.

Chris Bumstead’s morning routine for Mr. Olympia 2023

Chris Bumstead, in one of his recent YouTube videos, shared the difference in the morning routines when he’s in prep and during the off-season. The first thing he does after he wakes up is cardio. He likes to keep the meals in the morning absolutely light. His range of cardio is efficiently moderate during the off-seasons and he has Ezekiel bread toast and almond butter post his workout.

However, as the prep season sweeps in, he prefers to ramp up and do an intensely rigorous session of cardio in the morning that involves breath work.

He says, “Prep evolves. I’m very fluid. My routine depends on the time of the year, it’s just wherever I feel natural. I just kind of flow into that state, do what I can, and kind of thrive in that structure rather than really regimented.”

“But in prep, I’ll wake up in the morning and usually do breath work thing because I get sucked in that,” he added.
