‘The Gift’ had an astounding journey as a bodybuilder from 2011 to 2017, lifting the glorious Sandow trophy seven times in a row. Being an only child, he knew from the beginning that he was his own first responder and that is one of the things that has helped shape his path throughout. Phil Heath was known for his symmetrical, muscular, and shredded look, also being a perfect amalgamation of flawless conditioning, size, and vascularity. Thus, he left judges with no option but to declare him the reigning champion. Heath and Kai Green’s rivalry is one of the most popular ones and every sports fanatic would be aware of the same, probably the greatest after Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman

The Gift quoted in one of his last speeches on the stage of Mr. Olympia that practicing for Mr. O has taught him how to brave against atrocities and train harder even on the days when there was no one in the room. In one of his recent posts, he highlighted how much he missed those days of pride and glory.

In a recent tweet, the 7x Mr. Olympia responded to one of his tweets that said, “I miss @philheath competing in the O, those were GOAT times.” In response, Heath tweeted by saying, “Thank you. There are moments I miss also.” Heath was trained in a gym named Armbrust Pro in Denver, Colorado, and recently while sharing a video of his gym he got emotional and revealed that at this place, he had worked hard and shed his blood, sweat, and tears.

A person who had majored in Information Technology, and was a basketball player, he commenced his bodybuilding career in 2003, and in 2011 he clinched the Mr. Olympia title for the first time. While giving his concluding speech after winning the trophy for the 7th time, he claimed that while training he never thought he could win. Moreover, his only intention while training was to complete one more rep. As he quotes along the same lines, “I’d be in there dying. Looking at those pictures in the gym, of Schwarzenegger, of Coleman, of Haney, of Dorian, and of everybody. And I would just tell myself: ‘one more set. One more rep.”

Moreover, Phil Heath said,

“It taught me how to train hard when no one’s in the room when you’re having a bad day. Through death, through hardship. Through anything that can go wrong.” Thus, the bodybuilder advised his fans and followers to stand up and fight even if they were not confident or not feeling well. He was one of those bodybuilders who taught people that they have to battle with the weights in the gym along with battling against their adversities and they cannot quit, pause, or stop. Heath’s path to winning the Sandow trophy was not a bed of roses, instead, it also saw a rivalry that would be talked about for ages, his feud with Kai Green.

Phil Heath says sometimes you have to train angry

While Phil Heath was in conversation with Chris Williamson, he claimed that when he was training for the 2013 Olympia, he somehow had this feeling that this year he could beat Kai Green and perhaps close the door for him. In the same year, his documentary ‘Generation Iron’ was also about to be released, and if he loses people might get confused, because the documentary was based on his victory of 2012.

So, he quoted, “It’s like all right. Well, sometimes you have to train angry. Take 2011 take, 2012 merge them 2013 and I had one called out that year.” Hence, he was very clear about the tunnel vision he had to win. What are your thoughts about the tale of Phil Heath? Do comment below.
