Life has not been a bed of roses for Joey Swoll. However, there were more hurdles to cross than he had anticipated. Swoll unfortunately faced a severe drug addiction three years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This setback brought a lot of turmoil into his life during the quarantine. However, he recently updated his 3.1 million Instagram followers on a piece of good news that has changed his life forever.

In a recent Instagram upload, the?‘CEO of Gym Positivity’?shared a tweet that he had uploaded from his own account. The tweet was a message to his fans about how he overcame his addiction to opioids three years ago during the pandemic. The bodybuilder who collaborated with Arnold and received Arnie?s approval through his newsletter overcame the most difficult time and is consistent with it.

The bodybuilder wrote in the post about his journey with addiction and thanked his followers for their constant love and admiration. He wrote,??3 years ago I was addicted to opioids, suicidal, completely alone, and without purpose. Today I’m clean, happy, cherishing every single day I wake up, and I feel amazing. Because of all of you, I’m once again changing lives and making an impact on the world and fitness community. Thank you from the bottom of my big heart.??Swoll shared the picture on Instagram with a simple caption that read,??3 years clean. ????.??

The bodybuilder who advocates for positive gym etiquette was bullied as a young man and had to sleep in a cafeteria near his college gym as well. He decided to raise his voice against bullying, especially in the gym, and always tried to be positive. However, even the strongest of people need respite and support from others.

He not only faced an addiction to opioids but also had suicidal thoughts. A fateful phone call from his mother saved his life. His mother has always been a strong pillar in his life, and she remained strong even through a?major heart attack.?Even after these setbacks, he remained positive and advocated for a healthy gym environment, and this got the attention of the Austrian Oak.

Swoll had a unique encounter with Arnold,?where the 40-year-old pretended not to know the 7-time Mr. Olympia winner. The YouTube video also reflected the?Predator?star approaching Swoll after being impressed by his muscular physique.

The?’CEO of Gym Positivity’?hit a double bicep pose as soon as Arnie requested it and managed to impress the bodybuilding icon. Schwarzenegger went to take a snap with Swoll when the real fun ensued. The Austrian Oak asked Swoll, ?What?s your name?? To which the young fitness icon responded, ?Joey.? Soon the fun-loving gym positivity enthusiast questioned Arnie, ?What?s your name?? and this left the crowd burst into laughter. The humble bodybuilder and Hollywood star responded, ?Arnie.? They finally clicked an iconic photo together, and Arnold was impressed with his flexed muscles.
