Do you want to grow triceps that will rival those of the best bodybuilders in the world? Four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler believes you can very well do so, but only if you follow his Olympia-winning triceps workout. Cutler explained that it was his need for a “knock side triceps,” pose that made him look for ways to make his already impressive triceps even better.
Jay Cutler always looked to get the best pump and train all heads of the triceps to create “The ultimate triceps workout.” The Comeback Kid recommended three exercises that you’ll need to build massive, aesthetic triceps. “I started with a rope press downs,” said the bodybuilding veteran, and explained why.
“Now this is great to warm up the elbows, get the blood flowing, and kind of pre-exhaust the muscle,” said the bodybuilding icon. The second exercise, the Arnold Classic Champion described as “everyone’s favorite exercise,” is the stand press down. In this one, you attach a standard or EZ bar to the cable and do press-downs with a pronated grip.

“I think this works the long head of the tricep,” said Jay Cutler. The former Mr. Olympia’s final recommendation was triceps extensions, aka the French press. While there are multiple variations, the 50-year-old bodybuilding veteran highlighted the overhead tricep extensions.
The Cutler Nutrition founder recommended you do three to four sets of each exercise, keeping the rep range between eight to fifteen. Coincidentally, science-based natural bodybuilder Jeff Nippard also ranked every tricep exercise, and his recommendation matched Cutler’s.

Nippard picked the overhead triceps extension, the one Jay Cutler picked as the second movement, as the best singular exercise for all heads of the triceps. Nippard explained that it optimally trains all the heads of the triceps without putting stress on the joints when done correctly. The Comeback Kid also emphasized not stressing the elbow joints while training your triceps.
