Privacy is indeed a fundamental right that must be protected at all costs, irrespective of place, time, or ongoing activity. In a recent turn of events, an incident took place that shook the CEO of Gym Positivity, Joey Swoll, and compelled him to speak up against the action.

In one of the franchises of 24-Hour Fitness, a gym goer was seen filming a man moving n*ked in the locker room. He was captured in the shot while the gymgoer was making some blog for himself, and he did not even have the decency to delete or blur out the man. Rather, he used it as a publicity stunt, trying to capture the attention of the audience and widen his reach. Fortunately, this incident fell in the sight of Joey Swoll.

When fitness icon Joey Swoll got to know about this incident, he took matters into his own hands like always and made it imperative that the world knows that this is exactly the opposite of what gym etiquette must be followed. He takes up his official Twitter (now X) account and shares a video explaining how. The video was captioned, “There’s nothing funny about doing this to him. It’s disgusting and illegal. @24hourfitness”.

He began the video by saying, “I will never understand what people find funny about filming somebody that’s changing or n*de in a locker room to post on social media.” He elaborates by saying that the offense committed is so drastic that it can cause imprisonment, and the person can be registered as a s*x offender for this.

Swoll further adds, “There is nothing funny about this. This is disrespectful, it’s rude, it’s perverted, not to mention it’s illegal. You can go to jail for this.” He also managed to send this video over to the concerned gym, and serious action was promised to be taken by 24-hour fitness since they do not permit taking videos in the locker room. He ends the video by addressing the man, “I hope they put charges on you. You need to do better. Mind your own business.” This is not the first time Swoll addressed a locker room incident and rectified it. He also pointed at a woman earlier who did the same thing.

Joey Swoll demanding to cancel a gym-goer’s membership

In an old video posted on his Twitter account, Joey Swoll shared a video of a woman taking a selfie inside the locker room of her gym. She had a woman disrobed in the background of her video, and even after noticing it, she did not blur her out or even cover her identity before uploading it on her social media.

In the video, he said, “I can’t believe that in 2023, people don’t know better than to take a selfie in the locker room at the gym with somebody that is n*de or changing in the background, then post it to social media. And then comment something like this.” He added that the woman must apologize to the gymgoer who was in the background or her gym membership must be cancelled. Swoll has never failed to address any infringement to acquire a positive gym culture, and this time too was no exception. What are your thoughts on the matter?
