Nick The Mutant Walker withdrawing from Mr. Olympia earlier this year shocked the entire bodybuilding community. An unfortunate injury to his hamstrings ensured that the Mutant could not participate in the World Cup of bodybuilding. But now that some time has passed, Walker has provided an update on his current circumstances and the severity of the injury.

Nick Walker is on his way to recovery

Nick Walker recently took to his official Instagram account and shared a video of his hamstring and the severity of the deterioration of his muscles, which eventually led to the injury that knocked him out of the tournament. In the caption, he talks about how with time, it only got worse.

And while it naturally took some time to process, The Mutant eventually let the disappointment sink in, accepted that these things happen, and since then has embarked on his journey of recovery.

Promising his fans that the curtains hadn’t set on him yet, Walker wrote, Stay positive and overcome, I will be back stronger, anyone who knows me knows this may have taken me out, but I will always come back stronger, take it day by day.” He even spoke about how you should not let setbacks stop you from achieving your goals.

He seemed positive and even advised his fans to not let setbacks determine who they were. He said, “You can’t let it overcome you, you have to overcome it, this has been a major setback for me, but it will create a better comeback.” Of course, it’s easier said than done, but Walker is rightfully named the Mutant, after all.

See, an education in science would tell you that mutation is the key to our survival. Since the time life on the planet began, it has mutated constantly to adapt and evolve to the challenges thrown its way and found a way to not only survive but thrive. And The Mutant is a sentient embodiment of that process, as evident by his descending upon the gym with the ferocity excepted of the gods of Olympus.
