However, as many move towards choosing a vegan diet, one can also see ripples of the same in the bodybuilding world. The latest documentary on Netflix named The Game Changers, advocated for veganism and spoke about plant-based eating and protein. This took the bodybuilding world by storm because even stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger advocated for veganism. The bodybuilding world has adopted veganism recently, and there are several bodybuilders, who create a stunning physique and even compete by being vegan.

There are several bodybuilders coming up now in the arena who have embraced veganism in their lives and continue to showcase shredded physiques. One such bodybuilder breaking all stereotypes of bodybuilding nutrition is John Thomas. He is an online coach, social media sensation, and above all, a vegan.?

He has proved that an individual can become a mass monster without consuming animal meat. His story was found on a Reddit post where it was captioned, ?30, 6ft, 248 lbs. 16 weeks out (again) & Your (least) Favourite Vegan Competitor.? Along the caption were several pictures of Thomas posing on stage with his incredible chiseled body. Since he is a vegan bodybuilder, people have a lot of questions about his diet and competition as well. Thomas was generous to answer most of his fans’ questions.?

Since several bodybuilders are now going vegan, such as Jim Morris, Nimai Delgado, Derek Tresize, and others, there have been bodybuilding championships structured specifically for vegans that have been started recently.

On April 15, 2023, the Vegan Health and Fitness Expo hosted the first-ever vegan bodybuilding championships where all the contestants on stage had built their muscles without consuming animal meat. The main aim of the competition was to break the stereotype of the misconception that only animal meat helps in building incredible muscles.?

The competition, which has been happening since 2019, was attended by 2500 people this year. Even bodybuilding legends such as Arnold Schwarzenegger have advocated for a vegan diet in bodybuilding and spoken about the benefits of it as well.?

The Austrian oak always tries to help people with his knowledge and wisdom about nutrition as well as fitness. He does this through his newsletter called Arnold?s Pump Club. Previously, he spoke about veganism to his millions of villagers.?

He spoke about his vegan diet in the newsletter, and said, ?I?m not fully vegan. I just eat about 80 percent less meat than I used to. For protein, my staples are eggs, salmon, and chicken?.? He continues,??But I have more and more veggie burgers with lentils and beans. My soups, if you saw the recipe, have chickpeas. I also use my Ladder plant protein powder that?s powered by pea protein?.?

The seven-time Mr. Olympia winner is 75 years old and seems to be enjoying more greens, especially because of his age. Several younger athletes are vegan, and these bodybuilders are taking the world by storm with their massive physiques.?

Bodybuilder transforming thousands

The biggest vegan bodybuilder, Nimai Delgado, believes that bodybuilding can be done without considering animal meat, and also without milk. He claims that he has been meat-free since 1989 and has stopped having dairy products since 2015.?

In an Instagram post in March this year, Nimai?said, ?As someone who has been doing this my entire life, let me reassure you that it is possible & achievable for you to lose fat, build muscle, & improve your health on a fully plant-based diet.
