Dr. Mike Israetel calls out Sam Sulek for having the wrong form

A bodybuilding page @aegfitness8047 recently took to their official YouTube channel and shared a video of Dr. Mike Israetel, who is regarded as the Exercise Scientist in the fitness community. In the video, Dr. Israetel was seen mocking Sam Sulek for his poor form while performing a heavy set of bench presses.
The video began with a snippet of the 21 YO Jacked fitness icon performing a set of inclined bench presses for his upper chest. Looking at his poor technique, the Exercise Scientist says, “Not an ideal bench press technique here on the incline.” He goes on to explain how Sulek lacks the proper control, which results in a lower muscle-mind connection, hence the exercise becomes ineffective.

The doctor adds, “You want a slow controlled eccentric and then a slightly more explosive or normal speed concentric.” He even said that although Sulek thought that the heavyweight was impressive, it was actually a waste of time. He said, “Is it this impressive? No”. The Exercise Scientist goes on to explain why it is important to have good control in order to get the best out of a workout.
The Importance of Control Explained by Exercise Scientist
Dr. Mik Israetel, who has spent years understanding how exercise works, shares why it is important to have the proper pauses and control while performing an exercise. He says, “Huge gains are made when you stretch a muscle under load a ton”. Taking the bench press technique as an example for explaining, he adds, “If he could slow down that barbell to reach all the way down to his chest, pause at the bottom for a split second, and then come back up, it would result in better joint health and much lower risk of injury”.

Well, having good control and conditioning while you are working out not only helps in better development and pumping of the muscles but also reduces grave risks of getting injured while one is trying to lift heavy.
